Hi, I'm Michaella

Let's get to know each other

Hello! My name is Michaella Mounts, and I'm the photographer behind Starry Eyed Photography. I started my photography journey back in July of 2022 when I was hired by Alaska Village Initiatives, and finally started to branch out into senior sessions in August of 2024. While I haven't been doing photography for very long, I've had a strong connection to the arts for my entire life. Growing up, I was always playing instruments, drawing, singing, and acting. One of the things I cherish most in life is producing things for others to enjoy. Through photography, I've found a way to create art that is meaningful and puts a smile on people's faces.

When I'm not behind a camera, I love to engage in what I refer to as my "grandma" hobbies. Whether that be knitting, crocheting, reading or watching a period drama, I'm constantly keeping myself occupied.

If I'm not at home making a new sweater and binging a tv show, I'm probably coaching color guard at Colony High School, traveling somewhere new, running a game of dungeons and dragons, or of course, getting myself covered in mud while I snap some pictures!

My Mission

My ultimate goal as a photographer is to capture images that reflect who my clients are inside and out. I want everything about your pictures to scream you! Location, outfit, smile, and props. You play an instrument? Of course you have to include it in your pictures. How about a sport? Bring your hockey stick or football. I want each and every client to come out of their session with unique photos that they love. If you have an idea, all you have to do is ask. Whether it be a senior session, or a shoot with the whole family, I promise you'll leave laughing with pictures you can smile at for years to come.
